Magazine Reviews
Stocks and Commodities Magazine (Nov. 2007, Books for Traders)

"This is a collection of chart patterns by real traders to make real trades. The idea is that knowledgable traders recognize patterns that have led to successful trades, and once you can recognize the patterns your trading will improve. This book is not a collection from random stories or highly tweaked magic oscillators. Infact, there are no oscillators in the book. It concentrates on making it possible for you to see and understand the pattern, and then use that knowledge to make money in the markets."
The Traders' Journal Magazine Review (Sept. 2007)

Trade Chart Patterns Like The Pros" is an excellent book aimed at technical traders and analysts who rely on chart patterns in their daily market trading. The books author Suri Duddella, is a veteran trader and well known in the trading industry. He is a skilled private trader active in the equities, futures and currency markets.

The book focuses on 'how to' and 'what next' concepts for each of the 65 chart patterns presented. Each pattern is clearly illustrated with entry and exit points along with targets and stops.

What surprised this reviewer was the amount of clarity and detail explained and illustrated throughout the book. Along with the large variety of chart patterns, the book also includes over 225 illustrations with specific trade entries/exits and detailed targets/stops. It includes the most popular patterns like 'Head and Shoulders', 'Cup and Handles' and 'Traingles' along with 65 other patterns. Duddella encourages readers to study and master a few of the chart patterns initially to get comfortable with pattern method of trading. [..more..]

Has created and compiled one of the best pattern trading guides in print.
I stress in print, as this book is a reflection of one professionals passion for patterns.

Rarely, will a reader find such a tool of instruction that enables one to see over the shoulder of a seasoned trader.

Pure price bars
What is so great about this collections of chart patterns for me is the lack of other indicators to predict price movement. It is pure price bars; the evolution of price movement in its simplest form.

Soon to be a Classic Work
The graphics, detail, descriptions are clear, concise and explained from the heart.
I am convinced that this book or chart pattern reference (encyclopedia) will soon become a classic and on the desk of novice and seasoned technical traders alike.

" I just finished Suri's new book 'Trade Chart Patterns like the Pros' and wanted to report that it is WELL worth the investment - I have traded for 15+ years and this is one of the best books I have read on Trading - it is very concise and well-thought out - it is written by a trader for traders of all levels of experience. The new book by Suri Duddella, “Trade Chart Patterns Like the Pros” truly does live up to its title. It is filled with a plethora of patterns, both simple and complex, covering a wide range of approaches – geometric, harmonic, bands, zigzags, tops/bottoms, channels, and gaps, to name a few. I found his patterns on triangles, wedges, tops and bottoms to be of particular value to my day-trading style. I got several excellent ideas from these chapters for both target setting and pattern confirmation that I am currently using when I day-trade.

This book sets itself apart from many other trading books in that Suri keeps his promise to not only present specific chart patterns, but to also demonstrate how to trade them. I particularly liked his methods for establishing pattern confirmations/ targets/stops based on the chart pattern itself. Even traders who rely heavily on indicators can easily apply Suri’s methods to confirm (or not confirm!) the readings from their favorite indicators and oscillators.

Thanks to this book, I have implemented some new and innovative methods when trading chart patterns. I’d recommend this book to all traders as a top-notch addition to their trading library... TFG

EliteTrader Book Reviews

Most of my trading is based on personal experience, trial and error, passion, dedication. I can't think of any book that I can give credit for improving my trading skills or taking me to the next level.
However, if Suri's book had come out when I started this long journey it would had been a much more enjoyable ride.
Highly recommended, nothing but patterns and price action, the way it should be.

I stopped buying books some time ago because I got to a point where the excitement of a new book about trading had died. I was getting the same information over and over again. After hearing good comments about this book from good traders I decided to give it a try and what a burst of fresh air it is. Love the book, got that new book excitement back and am really inspired to read it. I should buy another one to keep in pristine condition and another one for the battles fought at my desk. I highly recomend it for any trader at any level. ... Piscuy

An excellent book and by far one of my favorites... after reading Bulkowski, Murphy and a host of other authors, this book was sheer pleasure, it filled in all the missing pieces and so much more...

Clearly and concisely written, the logic for each pattern easy to comprehend with target entry and exit points clearly defined. No doubt to become one of the classics…

Thank you Suri, for providing me one more tool in my arsenal towards success... I look forward to your next publication...

Couldn't do without 'Trade Chart Patterns Like The Pros'. Sits on my trading desk and is referenced often. Suri puts it all together in an easy to read and understand format. Starting with chart types and Market Structure then describing a long list of patterns with entries and targets for each. After studying this text you'll be able to precisely define your strategy for trading such patterns as Double Bottoms, W's, and 2B's along with many, many others. In the end, you'll even get to the point of being able to slay the 'Dragon' (pattern, that is).... Shel. M.

TradersLaboratory.com (James Lee) Book Reviews

After receiving this book from Suri Duddella himself (author), I must say I was highly impressed. Previously reading two volumes of Bulkowski's, Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns, I was quite stunned to learn various chart patterns I was never exposed to. Suri's book contains over 65 chart patterns, most of which was new to me. For a purely technical based trader relying on pattern recognition, this book is a gold mine. Packed with illustrated charts, Suri goes into depth on entries and exit points as well.

From NR7 breakouts, Globex pivots, channels, M & W patterns, etc... Trade Chart Patterns Like The Pros explains things easily even for the novice trader. There are alot of technical analysis books out there on the market but this book was perhaps one of the easiest to understand..... [...more...]

AlphaTrends Review (Brian Shannon)

I have found a new book that I think will be a classic reference tool for traders. The book is "Trade Chart Patterns Like The Pros" by Suri Duddella. This book is a comprehensive overview of chart patterns from the perspective of an actual trader, not a professional author. You can review sample pages and see the table of contents or purchase the book directly from his website www.SURI NOTES.com A few of the topics of the book include: Pivots, Fibonacci, Gaps, Elliot Wave, Cup & Handle Patterns, Head & Shoulders pattern and a few patterns I have never heard of (Dragon, Butterfly). ".... I have had the opportunity over the last week to read through just over 270 pages of stock chart patterns, and I couldn’t have been more impressed."

Trade Chart Patterns Like the Pros is basically an encyclopedia of everything technical analysis. The book has more than 60 different unique and common patterns explained in detail; the greater majority with a focus on day trading. Suri breaks down every pattern into:
1. A brief overview of the pattern
2. A description of the pattern structure
3. Trade examples using the pattern with detailed entries, stops, and targets

Microcapspeculator.net Book Reviews (Josh Silverman)

If you are a technical trader or want to learn more about chart patterns, this is the next book you should buy. Most books on technical analysis tell you what patterns are or why they tend to recur. “Trade Chart Patterns Like the Pros” is far more practical, telling you step-by-step exactly how one of the best traders I know trades each pattern (entries, exits, stops, etc.). Not all the patterns work with microcaps, but many will. [...more...]

"I wish that when I first began trading, that I had come across a text such as Trade Chart Patterns Like the Pros and recognized it for what it was: a practical guide for truly profiting from technical analysis LIKE THE PROS. Unlike so many of the books out there that purport to be written by professional traders, yours is one that I can attest to. It took me many years to identify and believe in many of the strategies that you have covered in your book. A number of them are concepts that I use which I have never even seen in print, yet are so well ingrained after all these years that I often wonder why they have not permeated the mainstream yet.... HedgeFolios.com's Book Reviews (Michael Steinhardt)

Suri has just authored and published Trade Chart Patterns Like The Pros a book that I expect will set records. Not the kind of record the author gets for selling a gazillion copies, but the more important kind - the record for users actually making money from reading a book. Most investing books may be enjoyable for relaxing or helping you to fall asleep, but I have found few that actually help you make successful trades. This one is different. Trade Chart Patterns Like The Pros identifies 65 of the most common chart patterns and then helps you apply the techniques that will lead to better entries and exits for long or short positions regardless of your investing time frame or preferred financial instrument.
